Which Metals Can Be Galvanized?
The main substrates can be galvanized are steel and iron. Other black metals can also be galvanize. The coating material in galvanization is zinc, however, a similar process to galvanization is tinning. It replaces tin with zinc. Tin plating is not as reliable as galvanizing because it only used for simple applications, such as food storage. If the coating is damaged, the tin will erode the iron underneath.
